As Bob Callahan shared, “We’re promoting our exhibitors, we’re promoting the conference sessions, and then we’re also able to give back to the community is something that we’ve always wanted to do.”
With a dedicated focus on the floral market, Floriexpo is now active 365 days a year—offering content, visibility, and growth opportunities beyond the three-day event itself.
Overcoming Floral Sourcing Challenges
Kim Boin of Galleria Farms emphasized how unpredictable weather has impacted the floral supply chain this year, from hailstorms to flooding across Colombia and Ecuador. “The weather in Colombia and Ecuador has been absolutely atrocious this year,” she noted, adding, “This spring has really been like no spring I have seen from a weather perspective.”
For growers and distributors dealing with these issues, Floriexpo 2025 provides a crucial opportunity to regroup, connect, and plan ahead. Kim explained that it’s the perfect time because “you’re able to share your war stories of the season… and through the incredible networking that the show offers, it leads to new opportunities.”
Retail Buyers & Micro-Holiday Trends
Bradley Gaines, Director of Floral for United Supermarkets, pointed out that secondary holidays like Yellow Flower Day and Día de la Madre are becoming essential for retail strategies. “There’s a day for everything… there’s a margarita day, there’s a tequila day… and for us in the Southwest, Mother’s Day is a super holiday.”
As these holidays grow in popularity, they create new opportunities for floral suppliers to reach diverse markets. Sahid Nahim added, “It’s really interesting to have a platform to identify those micro holidays that are working for you that might work for somewhere else that has a larger Mexican community.”
Education and Innovation: Floriexpo’s New Format
From AI integration to 2026 trend forecasting and secondary holiday promotions, the Floriexpo team—supported by its advisory board—has curated a high-value education program. Bob Callahan shared: “We have sessions on AI… Live Trends is going to do a 2026 trends report… and then we have a session on secondary holidays… We have a session on doing more with less.”
A major highlight this year is the tariff panel on June 6, Friday, taking place directly on the show floor with breakfast provided. This new format is designed to keep exhibitors engaged through the final day of the show.
How to Maximize ROI at Floriexpo 2025
Bob emphasized that attendees should plan ahead to get the most out of the event: “The buyers take this event seriously. They come prepared with notepads, they’re taking notes, looking at new products, gaining new ideas… It’s designed for you know three days of a year’s worth of business.”
Bradley encouraged vendors to come prepared: “They need to do a little homework… go through the list and see exactly who is coming, how many stores, where their stores are.” He added that what gets his attention is when booths “highlight what makes your product different—highlight whether it’s the growing conditions, the premium availability of your product.”
